Paul Turner, an experienced Local Authority Environmental Health Officer and Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, has dedicated his career to improving food safety standards. Currently serving as the Senior Environmental Health Officer at North Yorkshire Council, Paul has been involved in various projects and training initiatives with the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
Paul’s passion for Safe to Trade is driven by his commitment to enhancing food safety standards and protecting public health. He believes that the scheme’s standardised audit approach offers a significant improvement over traditional methods, reducing inconsistencies and ensuring a clear scope for audits. By providing clear guidelines, Safe to Trade helps auditors to apply food safety standards consistently, minimising the risk of food safety contraventions.
As a member of the Certification Body Impartiality Committee, Paul is committed to ensuring the impartiality of certification decisions.
